Starting with First Code Academy! First Code Academy is a Hong Kong-based startup that develops and runs computer programming courses and holiday camps specially designed for kids and teens in Hong Kong and Singapore. Its mission is to empower our next generation to be creators using technology.
1. Describe what your company does in 140 characters or less.
First Code Academy is the top kid's coding education startup in Asia that teaches students, from 5 to 18 years old, how to code.
2. What are the two most important traits you look for in new teammates.
Willingness to learn and integrity.
3. Tell us three unique things about your company culture
1) Done is Better Than Perfect: Creative and with a bias towards action, we embrace ambiguity and are motivated to explore new ways to do things, better.
2) A Beginner's Mindset: All in our team learn to code, and we live and breath the spirit of learning and self improvement.
3) Stay Lean, Stay Humble: We take "get your hands dirty" seriously. Everyone takes out the trash, fixes broken photo frames and takes turn at the reception. Once, we took turns painting our white board walls as a team ahead of our busy Summer camp season, what a fun workout!
4. On a typical Saturday, your team members are usually a) At the office b) Networking on junk boat c) sleeping
Our working days are Tue-Sat, and Saturday is our busiest day as we open our doors to teach kids coding.
