How do the duties of a Watch Trainer look like in Think It Twice?
As a Watch Trainer, your role is the trainer for watch writers, acting as their consultant and guidance on watch writing. You will:
- Have great passion in watches and the watch industry
- Have deep understanding of the watch parts and mechanism, and be able to detail the features specifically
- Come from a retail background and know how to apply your watch knowledge in a retail scenario
- Review content related to watch knowledge, material culture, watch competition, news and trends related to the Haute Horology industry and improve it in a way that appeals to salespersons
- Carry out in-depth research on watch-related topics for content creation (Haute Horlogerie)
- Follow and analyze market news in the horology industry. Ensure the facts concerning watches are error-free
- Work closely with watch writers to coach them on watch knowledge
- Work closely with brand managers to develop monthly schedules and content topics
- Generate writing ideas: brainstorm on topics to write on (Haute Horlogerie)
- Respond to clients’ requests and support front-end users with your watch knowledge
- You may take up other responsibilities depending on your ability and interest:
- Content creation
- Translation
- Branding and marketing
- Sales and business development
- Any other field you would like to be involved in
- Candidates with background in watchmaking and/or watch merchandising is a definite advantage.
You will be coordinating with Content Specialists in both Hong Kong and Montréal offices.
As a member of the Team, you are

- Independent and self-driven: you will manage your own tasks and schedule. You are also responsible for identifying and reporting any problem you have to the team before it will affect others.
- Able to work independently and well with others: you will take up both individual tasks (where you will do your own research and review your own work) and team tasks (where you will have to communicate with others and support the team with your watch knowledge). It’s equally important to be organized and have a strong sense of commitment to deadlines, and be a good communicator and team player when you work with others.
- Proficient in English: you possess native level of written and spoken English (a plus if you can speak a second language. It will be an advantage for you to speak fluent Cantonese if you are from Hong Kong), and have excellent writing and editing skills in English.
- Careful and detail-minded: you are attentive to details and would strive for excellence.
- A fast learner: you can quickly adapt to new working tools.
- Curious: you are happy with researching, able to demonstrate strong researching skills and explore topics to write about.
- Patient and supportive: you are patient to explain into details to people with less knowledge in watch and the industry, and is supportive to the team by answering questions raised concerning watches.
It will be a big plus if you have:
- Experience in watchmaking, watch merchandising, content creation, translation, CMS or content management
- A background of any of the stream: luxury fashion/watchmaking/jewelry industry, boutique sales/retail training, luxury client servicing and/or teaching
- Proficiency in other written languages (Japanese/Korean/French/Chinese)
