What the role is all about
This UI/UX Designer will be a part of a small entrepreneurial team developing financial planning and wealth management products for the local Hong Kong market. You will lead the wireframing, testing, and iterative development of designs for a brand new website and app. If you want to be directly involved in shaping a brand new marketing site, onboarding process and core product in line with a successful international brand, then this role is for you.
What you'll need to do
Research
- Work with our internal stakeholders to understand and gather requirements
- Connect with, and interview, prospective customers to build a detailed profile of potential users and understand their needs
- Research and analyse competitor’s offerings to identify a gap in the market
Design and test
- Be a key contributor in design sprints to generate innovative ideas that meet our users’ needs
- Mock-up (wireframe) and iterate a range of low-fidelity and high-fidelity prototypes of a new website and/or mobile app
- Test your prototypes with prospective customers. Be able to pick from a range of testing techniques including guerilla testing, remote user testing, alpha launches and A/B testing to make sure you get feedback as quickly as possible
- Develop an information architecture for the marketing site and post-sale site and apps
- Collaborate with product managers and software engineers to ensure the website and/or mobile app is clearly articulated as technical requirements, and developed in line with your designs
- Create original, compelling, concise copy for both the marketing site and the app to make sure we’re communicating our value proposition and presenting a clear, functional UI for everyone
What are we looking for
Skills
- 3+ years experience in digital design
- Sketch and/or Adobe CS capability for high quality visual designs
- Experience working with engineers and product managers to build apps and websites
- Skills with wireframing tools such as Axure/Sketch/Balsamiq
- Proven expertise in conducting qualitative user research and building insights
- Strength in conducting and learning from usability tests
- Portfolio of work - either online or pdf, but preferably online
- Bonus: experience coding in HTML, CSS, and Javascript
- Bonus: experience in a start-up environment
- Fluent in spoken and written English and Cantonese
