Insight Robotics is now looking for Embedded System Engineer to develop software and embedded system for our UAV aerial survey (AS) and fire detection (FD) business lines. Insight’s aerial survey business provides large-scale data collection, data processing and data management services to forestry plantations. Our fire detection systems provide automated and semi-automated forest fire detection for large land areas. As an Embedded System Engineer, your responsibilities are to create novel embedded systems solutions for a variety of applications. Hands-on hardware and software engineering expertise will be applied, and a variety of system modeling tools will be employed to design, simulate, implement, and test some systems. You will be lead by our experienced software leader or our Chief Science Officer (CSO) in R&D team. You may also need to interact with our product managers to understand clients’ requirement to build core functions.

Responsibilities
- Design company key products’ hardware architectures with concept inputs from CSO
- Implement, and/or manage the third party to implement, high-speed electronic design of company’s key products, including schematic capture, layout design, component selection and hardware testing
- Develop FPGA logic code to handle high-speed data bridging between sensors and different types of memory devices
- Apply FPGA IP Cores to the target system and design the routing of I/O signals on the PCB
- Design schematic diagram for PCBs
- Develop firmware, embedded software, on ARM® based Linux platform for handling the main program to coordinate the data captured by different types of sensors, top develop the logic of processing the data and to provide storage and network communication needs
- Comply hardware and firmware design documentation as required

Required Qualifications
- Bachelors’ of Science Degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering or other related technical fields
- At least 4 - 8 years of relevant professional experience in Embedded Systems design, implementation and testing
- Experienced with embedded hardware system and embedded software design, development, implementation and testing
- Hands-on experience designing and prototyping electronic circuitry that employs FPGAs, microcontrollers, sensors, and power supplies
- Experience in Xilinx Vivado and SDK is expected
- Fluency in programming languages including Python, C, C++ and especially Verilog
- Excellent programming skills.
- Understand SCRUM framework and development practice
- Familiarity with the operation of test and measurement equipment for electronic systems.
- Excellent communication skills, the ability to document and publish designs and results, and the ability to multitask effectively
