Why is this role needed?
Part of our mission is to bridge tech education and employment. Currently, we have three full-time immersive training programs producing, on average, up to 20 talented new graduates every month: all of them we try and place in quality tech jobs as fast as we can.
The successful candidate
- Must have a previous background in tech and able to evaluate Job Descriptions for technical roles to best match to our graduates’ capabilities
- Previous experience in an advantage. Experience in academic roles (admissions, graduate placement, alumni, etc.) and community management desirable.
- Fluent in English and Cantonese
- Good business communication skills: writing, speaking, presentation, listening.
- Adds value to each task and uses their creativity and personal talents to solve problems
- Mature, proactive, naturally curious about emerging technologies and ok working in a transient environment (sometimes students take over our desks!)
Responsibilities
Strategy and executive tasks
- Learn and internalize our “education to employability” mission and translate that into creative, and value-adding ideas and actions – yes, that’s your main responsibility
- Drive the graduate placement strategy with the respective Heads of B2B, Technical, Community, and Marketing
- Proactively search the market and spot placement opportunities
- Work with Head of Technical and Instruction in replicating technical assessment tests done by hiring companies with our graduates to better increase their chances of placement
- Create partnerships with viable recruitment agencies and alternative channels who share Accelerate’s values and vision
- Generate revenue and contribute up to 40% of the overall B2B quarterly targets
- Work with the CEO and CTO for internal tech candidate hiring
- Grow the Accelerate Alumni network: start the community, create mentorship programs, connect to other beneficial networks, develop brand ambassadors, build referral and hiring pipeline
Operations and daily tasks
- Co-lead our monthly Project Showcase and Hiring Nights with Biz Dev and Community
- Manage incoming placement inquiries; adopt a client and relationship-driven approach
- Evaluate job descriptions, discuss nuances of role with Hiring Partner, prepare candidates, and kick off the interview process
- Maintain relationships with top Hiring Clients and build talent resource pipelines
- Support the B2B Head in daily tasks: company research, preparing outgoing documents, proposal writing and editing, taking business calls, follow-ups.
- Create targeted databases and company lists for corporate training and graduate hiring
- Track graduate placement, interview schedules, contracts, payment schedules, revenue reports
- Represent Accelerate at industry events (including tech and job fairs) and social gatherings
- Administrative tasks as needed
