Role of Community Manager will report to Director of Labs Asia.
Community Leads must be able to talk about technology intelligently and enthusiastically to founders, corporate executives and senior technologists. Passion, curiosity, technical depth, and exceptional communication and presentation skills are required.
Community (Development)
- Manage and help further grow our community (mentors, investors, and entrepreneurs) in the Great Bay Area China through events, newsletters, social, etc.
- Manage mentor participation in and around Readwrite Labs accelerator programs
- Develop and maintain relationships with Chinese Investors through monthly newsletter and updates
- Support in the organization of accelerator content development
- Collaborate with cross-border companies coming from APAC / China offices to visit San Francisco
- Coordinate community thought leaders who are participating in Innovation Road Trips between the US and China
Communications
- Build marketing materials to promote ReadWrite Labs in the community (including events)
- Create ReadWrite Labs specific content through blogs, ReadWrite.com, and social media, including the promotion (or highlighting) of our entrepreneurs
- Communicate activity with community through newsletters and other mediums
Business Development
- Build relationships with Local and Global partners, in coordination with the Program manager and Director of Labs Establish partnerships between corporate partners, accelerators, startups, Investors and the ReadWrite Labs community, for joint-development of the startup pipeline
Accelerator/Incubation
- Recruit companies, vet applications, and assist the Director of Labs Asia with company selection
- Oversee alumni and mentor programs, including the recruitment, vetting, and selection process as well as tracking engagement
- Represent ReadWrite Labs in local community, both actively and passively
- Position may require travel of up to 25% per quarter
Reporting: Will report into Director of Labs Asia
Growth: Opportunity to take over communications and community as a whole and move to Director role
Added - Qualifications:
- Chinese native
- University Degree
- Entrepreneurial and able to work in small teams
- Unabated passion for technology, business-building, and founders, a keen eye for unobvious opportunities
- Flexibility in regards to work schedule and travel
- Good marketing skills and business logic is a strong advantage, previous evangelism experiences preferred
- 2 – 5 years related experience; venture, go to market strategies, entrepreneurship, and technology. Prior experience in managing start-up and investor communities is a plus
- Unparalleled communication and negotiation skills
- Passion for technology and solid knowledge of enterprise global IOT ecosystems and technology as well as and competitive offerings
- Solid understanding of the founders' issues and struggles.
